The Sudanese representative expressed his thanks to America. He believes the only reason Sudan is not completely destroyed by recent bloodshed is because of the attention and gifts of Americans. He spoke of the millions dead and displaced at the hands of one of the three national armies. He also stated that he believes that the best way to assist in the professionalization of the Sudanese military is through the establishment of a chaplain corps. He finished by asking us, “Please do not forget Sudan.”
