Betsy has been married to husband Gene for over 40 years. They have two daughters and six grandchildren.
The oldest daughter, Gena, born in 1970 at Fort McClellan, Alabama, is married to Will Carver of Charleston, South Carolina. Gena and Will now live in North Carolina, with their two daughters, two sons and one dog. Both are involved in Christian education. The youngest daughter, Elisabeth (Lisa), born in 1973 at the US Army Military Academy, West Point, New York, is married to Mike Allee of Palmdale, California. Lisa and Mike live in Georgia, with their two sons and three dogs. Mike is an investment broker and Lisa is a financial advisor trainee.
Gene retired as a colonel from the Army in 1996 after nearly thirty years of service, and now consults for an emergency management company out of their home in North Carolina, Raleigh.
Betsy stays busy with Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC) at Fort Bragg, community activities, and women’s ministry at our church.
While Betsy volunteers as the OBI Prayer Coordinator, Gene has served on the Board of Directors in the past.
Gene and Betsy live on a small lake about 30 minutes north of Ft Bragg and a hour south of Raleigh, and love to enjoy all the wild life that call their backyard home!
