Project Director, Family Support
Rick (Colonel, US Army, retired) and Caroline (right) have been married thirty-four years. They have two grown children, both of whom are married. Son Jim, an Army captain recently deployed to Iraq, is married to Karen Whaley. Jim and Karen are en route to Fort Bliss, TX in November of 2008. Daughter Carrie is married to Brandon Bishop and they live in Bumpass, VA, with our 6 month-old grandson, Sage.
Rick retired from the Army 13 years ago, after serving almost 29 years. He worked as a consultant for a defense contractor, thereafter, until the summer of 2005.
In 2006, Rick and Caroline moved from the DC area where they had lived for seventeen years. They now live in Suffolk, VA, near Virginia Beach.
Rick and Caroline have been involved with Olive Branch since its inception.
Both have both served on the Board of Directors and participated in numerous projects through the years. Currently, Caroline serves on the board of Olive Branch International and as the Director of Family Support. In that capacity, she has led numerous teams to Russia and Ukraine in support of women's conferences, youth exchanges, and English camps.
She has also served on the board of the international organization of Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC) and currently serves on the local board of the PWOC at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek.
Rick and Caroline currently attend NAB Little Creek Chapel on Sunday mornings and Bible studies at Little Creek and Fort Monroe during the week.
