Olive Branch International volunteers again returned to Ukraine for the tenth annual English Camp for Ukrainian military teens. Since 2002, OBI has partnered with the Ukrainian Military Christian Fellowship (UMCF) to support in its week-long English camp in Chernigov. The OBI team, led by Bruce Kittleson, OBI President, taught conversational English and daily Bible lessons with life application. Team members also participated in typical camp activities (skits, talent shows, sports) for eighty campers. This year the OBI team of twelve hailed from California, Arkansas, Virginia, Kansas, and Italy.
While in country, OBI also fostered enhanced teamwork between itself and the Ukrainian leadership team. That team includes Dr. Gregory Komendant, Board Chairman, Olive Branch-Ukraine (OB-UA); Valentin Korenevych, Director, OB-UA; Vasily Khimich, National Director, UMCF; Zhanna Segeda, National Director, Ukrainian Women’s Ministry and the hospital chaplains, led by Nicholai Dudko, under OBI-sponsorship in Cherkassy Oblast.
