The Board of Directors welcomes Victor "Vic" Salazar to the OBI team as the Executive Director. He will become responsible for the day-to-day operations of OBI and lead the efforts to advance OBI's objectives alongside the world's militaries.
One of his first goals is to capture the rich history and successes of OBI by "telling our story well." In his words, "Many associates, donors and beneficiaries of OBI's service have helped to directly improve the quality of life of service members, their families and military communities. Their stories need to be shared for encouragement to others, to increase awareness of OBI's activities and capabilities, and to generate support from every possible source."
Vic spent over thirty years in military service with sixteen of those years living outside of the United States and serving in multinational environments. Throughout all his years of military service, he has also served the community as a member of several ministry boards, as a school board president, as an international student-body president and as a volunteer high-school wrestling coach. He and his wife, Pam, have been married for 33 years. Vic and Pam have 3 children, only one of whom is still at home. They reside in Alabama.
Vic has quickly become involved in OBI with his "boots on the ground," traveling to Sri Lanka and Ukraine shortly after becoming Executive Director.
